The Strategic Business Solution Consultant is a senior, customer-facing role within Global Merchant Solutions, reporting directly to the Head of Global Merchant Solutions Consulting. Based in UK, West, Central and Eastern Europe, the role leads strategic, outcome-driven engagements with large enterprise merchants across EMEA, shifting conversations from product features to end-to-end business solutions. Acting as a trusted advisor during pre-sales, the consultant aligns customer business objectives, market and regulatory drivers, and ACI's solution strategy to clearly articulate value, guide solution design, and enable informed decision-making. The role requires deep expertise in online payments and fraud, strong market insight, and a proven ability to consult at executive level with complex, enterprise merchants.

Responsibility:

The Strategic Business Solution Consultant (Global Merchant Solution) is a senior role responsible for executing on the growth objectives of the Merchant Solution portfolios. This role is responsible for articulating our vision and strategy, and positioning our solutions in the market in a way that aligns with ACI's solution strategy and differentiates ACI from the competition. The role will have primary responsibility for transforming solution consulting from being product-centric to solution-centric, aligning go-to-market plans and refining value propositions that best represent the depth and breadth of ACI's broad solution set. This role will ensure that steps in the sales process effectively define and demonstrate the value of ACI's solutions and assist in acquiring new prospects and cross-selling solutions to existing customers. In working with Sales as well with Product Management this role will ensure solution consulting has a strong influence in the sales process and a strong voice into customer requirements and needs, including providing continually appropriate feedback. This role is accountable for creating a world-class solution consulting practice that combines strong industry knowledge, in-depth solution and technology knowledge, and advanced solution selling skills to influence and drive the customer or prospect to buy ACI solutions. In the go-to-market plan, it will be directly accountable for defining and executing on the solution consulting plan that achieves annual growth goals as defined in the Operating Plan.

  • Lead consultative engagements with enterprise merchants to define business outcomes and solution strategies.
  • Influence and drive executive-level customer conversations during pre-sales to demonstrate value and differentiation of ACI solutions.
  • Own business case development: lead value discovery workshops, build ROI/TCO models, and define measurable success criteria.
  • Design and orchestrate Proof-of-Value engagements with clear entry/exit criteria and success metrics.
  • Apply structured qualification methodology (e.g., MEDDICC) to improve no-go discipline and win rate.
  • Collaborate closely with Technical Solution Consultants, Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to deliver integrated solutions and account strategies.
  • Author industry points of view and maintain competitive intelligence to inform discovery and demos.
  • Create reusable value assets and enable Sales/SCs to apply them consistently.
  • Provide market insights and thought leadership to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with Customer Success to track value realization post-sale on top accounts.
  • Understand and adhere to all corporate policies to include but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Deep knowledge of online payments, fraud prevention strategies, and industry best practices. Strong understanding of EMEA market dynamics and merchant requirements. Practical AI/analytics fluency to enhance discovery and value storytelling.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for the job:

  • 7+ years of experience in a consultancy firm or in a similar role within the payments industry.
  • Strong business consulting skills with technical understanding of payment solutions.
  • Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and delivering outcome-based solutions.
  • Excellent listening skills combined with the ability to speak up and guide customers confidently.
  • Experience in ROI/TCO modeling and executive-level storytelling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Technical Consultants, Sales, Product, Marketing, and others).
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Proven success in defining payments solutions for market opportunities.
  • Ability to quickly grasp concepts and solve complex problems.
